Scope: This policy applies to all transactions conducted through Rev Up Autos in the Republic of Uganda.
1. General Warranty Guidelines
The warranty terms vary by product category and are defined by the seller. Buyers should carefully review the warranty details before purchase.
Sellers must explicitly state the warranty period, terms, and conditions on their product listings.
2. Minimum Warranty Periods
In alignment with industry standards in Uganda, the following minimum warranty periods apply:
- New Auto Parts: 6 months
- Used Auto Parts: 1 month (if sold with any guarantee)
- Accessories: 3 months
- Consumables (e.g., oil, filters): No warranty unless otherwise stated by the seller.
3. Coverage and Exclusions
Warranty Coverage Includes:
- Manufacturing defects.
- Functional issues due to poor workmanship.
- Parts failing under normal use within the warranty period.
Exclusions:
- Damage due to misuse, improper installation, or negligence.
- Normal wear and tear.
- Modifications or repairs not authorized by the seller or manufacturer.
- Products purchased for competitive racing or extreme conditions unless specifically warranted for such use.
4. Dispute Resolution Process
If a buyer identifies an issue within the warranty period:
Report the Issue: The buyer must notify the seller through Rev Up Autos within seven (7) days of identifying the issue.
Provide Documentation: Buyers must provide proof of purchase, warranty documentation (if any), and evidence of the defect (photos, videos).
Resolution Timeline: Sellers must respond to warranty claims within five (5) business days.
- If the claim is valid, the seller must repair, replace, or refund the item per their warranty terms.
- If the seller disputes the claim, Rev Up Autos will mediate and issue a binding resolution based on the platform's Dispute Resolution and SLA Policy.
5. Seller Responsibilities
Sellers are responsible for honoring their stated warranty terms.
In case of disputes, sellers must provide documented evidence of product condition at the time of sale.
Sellers must maintain accurate records of warranty claims to ensure transparency during disputes.
6. Buyer Responsibilities
Buyers must ensure the proper installation and use of purchased items.
Warranty claims must be filed promptly and with all required evidence.
7. Marketplace Warranty Assurance
To promote trust, Rev Up Autos offers a Warranty Assurance Program for eligible products:
- Scope: Covers items marked as "Warranty-Assured by Rev Up Autos."
- Support: If a seller fails to honor their warranty, Rev Up Autos will facilitate refunds or replacements based on the platform's internal review.
8. Local Considerations
Legal Compliance: This warranty policy aligns with the Uganda National Bureau of Standards (UNBS) and other relevant local regulations.
Customer Support: Buyers and sellers can reach out to Rev Up Autos' support team for assistance in English, Luganda, or Swahili.
Product Quality Standards: Sellers are required to ensure products meet Uganda's legal and safety standards before listing them.
9. Updates to this Policy
Rev Up Autos reserves the right to update this warranty policy to reflect changes in the law, market conditions, or platform practices. Updated policies will be communicated to users via email and platform notifications.
